A literacy medley for your family fun night!
Laugh while you learn to use vocal expressions in your reading, writing, drawing and story-telling.
The ABC's of sound effects, true and tall tales, cartoons and comedy all make a joyful noise!
Students and their families will learn to imitate a sonic boom, a penguin noise and a realistic toilet flush.
(Just a fun family night, OK? )
Literacy? Of noise? It's called onomatopoeia. A clever way to redirect kid's noisy energy.
This could also be used as an excellent add-on to a day of class visits, school assemblies or an author residency.

Pricing 2024
Single event: 45-60 minute, local show all inclusive for $400
Two assembly programs: On the same day, $700
Full day residency: Classroom visits, or rotating programs, including a family fun night, $1000
Discounts are possible, if you are suffering budget cuts too. Let me know your situation, we can find a way to make it all work!

FAQs
What is the process and availability to book this event?
Charlie travels almost anywhere, but needs time to get the event wedged onto his work calendar.
What can I expect Charlie to do, the day of the program?
Charlie arrives an hour ahead of time to check in and set up. His contract specifies the logistics of the entire event.
Does Charlie have his own equipment?
Charlie has his own sound system, microphone, video projector and screen. But he is happy to use your equipment if it is compatible. He can truly set up anywhere, inside or out, weather permitting.
How can I help get the word out to parents?
Charlie can send press releases, flyers, artwork for your website calendar or sample merchandise. But the best PR is word-of-mouth. An assembly during the day will get the kids buzzing and inquisitive parents usually love to see what the rumpus is all about.

in 1995 Charlie worked for the Library in Wyoming and for KRAL/KIQZ.
The library commissioned him to produce Sound Safari Theater for a radio show and storytime to connect with outlying communities.
Plus, he was drawing a daily cartoon strip called Big Butte Junction for the Daily Times and Star Tribune.

A: Please give me advance notice, I have a lot of fires in the iron. Email, call or use the form on this website I will get right back to you about dates, $ and program info. 425.606.7589. Text if you like, my kids are helping me use my incomprehensible iphone.

A: Charlie will arrive at least an hour ahead of showtime to check in, scope the scene and help set up your venue.
